Bhutan: The Land of the Thunder Dragon!

Image
My most recent trip to Bhutan's Thimphu and Paro was stunning. So I decided to write a blog about the tour. Before my trip to Bhutan, I knew nothing about the country other than the fact that it is still ruled by a king. But once I arrived, I understood that Bhutan is much more than just the country with the happiest people and beautiful landscapes. I fell in love with the country during my 4-days trip.  Bhutan is known for having one of the most dangerous airports in the world, o nly 8 licensed pilots are permitted to land at the Paro airport worldwide. So,  I choose to go by road using India-Bhutan boarder.  It was rather simple to enter the city of harmony because I had a on arrival visa.  My accommodation was close to the Mahabodhi Temple, so I could observe their religious ceremony from a very close distance.  Even though my hotel was adjacent to the well-known temple, the price was fairly affordable, and the staff was really kind too. Liza and Tommy, two cuddly huskies, were

It may show itself as anxiety, weariness, a lack of motivation, insomnia problems, or even physical health issues. Why did I choose to study Biotechnology?

Image
Why did I choose to study Biotechnology? The answer is simple: CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing! I have been fascinated by this topic since 2017 when I watched a documentary on “Designer Babies.” It was about how, in the future, humans could use this technology to genetically modify embryos with desired features for the next generation. CRISPR is a family of DNA sequences found in the genomes of bacteria and archaea, and it can also be used to edit genes in other organisms with high accuracy and efficiency. I am intrigued by this technology because it represents the future of genetic engineering. In the future, we could potentially eliminate genetic disorders such as sickle cell anemia and cystic fibrosis, find a cure for HIV, treat cancer more easily a nd painlessly, create crops resistant to pesticides, and even enhance their nutritional content and yield. Moreover, CRISPR/Cas9 can be engineered to create new organisms and perhaps even revive extinct I ones, such as the mammoth. I regularly
